Rediscover Joy in the Busyness of Life

Be careful… the business of your life can quickly evolve into the busyness of life. You may notice yourself choosing to catch up on sleep this weekend or planning to spend quality time with my family… (insert future date here).  What you most enjoyed in life starts to work its way out… less meals at home, no trips outdoors for fresh air and no time for friends.

Then you may notice the tension builds in your neck and shoulders. You don’t get that extra sleep. Work needs you for that project, that extra shift. There are emails piling up. Then the laundry piles, the lawn’s grass grows. Let’s have an extra glass of wine, another beer. How about couch sittin’ a little longer? Days move to weeks then months…

Life doesn’t stop. A dear friend is going through a messy divorce, your teen is struggling at school, your parent is sick… You get it—the BUSYness of life.

Gain a Pause

In the midst of overwhelm, it’s time to gain a pause. Years can be broken down into months, weeks, days, minutes, seconds… It’s time to gain some insight and understand how the joys in life have gotten squeezed out. Therapy can be an interrupter to the busyness of life. With a trusted and trained art therapist, you can create images to express your inner yearnings so that you can learn ways to create your calm, clarity and change. Therapy with me helps you gain awareness of your patterns. Once you gain perspective, life fundamentals are addressed so you can gain restful sleep, quality time with your partner and family through creating your own self-care practices.

Inner Calm through Creativity

In my lived experience, the rigor of graduate studies pointed me to finding ways to slow down and reconnect. Pausing outdoors in nature, I developed many creative approaches to bring inner calm. Visual journaling, mindful walks, observing nature and somatic sensory experiences can be unique ways to let nature show us how she responds to change. Combining EMDR with Art Therapy can provide another deeper processing to help lighten the load of past experiences or future worry. Through Art Therapy, EMDR and somatic practices, you may get an answer to your why, experience positive vibes and befriend your inner calm.

Ready to take a pause? Let’s make a fresh start together to create your calm and healing. Feel free to reach out for a free consult. You can also learn more about the work I do on the Meet Andrea page.

Here to calm the busyness of life with you,
